In most countries around the world, women deliver children naturally, without any anaesthetics or drugs which can be damaging to the new-born child. Childbirth is a natural process and women who tend to cultivate healthy and active lifestyles may find the entire process to be quite spontaneous and effortless. Fear contributes to pain, because when you are afraid you tense your muscles, you block the flow of energy and you experience pain. If you relax and breathe, you let the energy move freely.

Cigarette smoking has been identified as the most important source of preventable morbidity and premature mortality in the world and smoking-related diseases cause an estimated 440,000 American deaths each year and cost the United States over $150 billion annually in health care. A Study by the CDC’s National Centre for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion found that cigarette smoke contains over 4,800 chemicals, 69 of which are known to cause cancer.
When the chemicals in cigarettes are inhaled, they put our bodies into a state of physical stress by sending literally thousands of poisons, toxic metals and carcinogens coursing through our bloodstream with every puff we take. Modern life is full of hassles, deadlines, frustrations, and demands. For many people, stress is so commonplace that it has become a way of life. Stress isn’t always bad. In small doses, it can help you perform under pressure and motivate you to do your best. But when you’re constantly running in emergency mode, your mind and body pay the price.
When you perceive a threat, real or imagined, your nervous system responds by releasing a flood of stress hormones, including adrenaline and cortisol. What is Meditation?
Meditation has been practiced around the world in every known religion, from Buddhism to Christianity. Your breathing will probably slow down…and one of the most common signs is a flickering in your eyelids, known as REMS (rapid eye movements).
You WILL feel calm and relaxed and peaceful and you will be fully aware unless you eventually take yourself to a much deeper state. Any sounds around you not being particularly important, but knowing that if anything REALLY requires your attention, you can see to it. The state is somewhere between being awake and being asleep…a drowsy relaxed state of alpha.
